 2015 Chinese Cooking

Learn to cook like a Chinese chef! This hands-on program covers the Szechuan, Jiangsu, Beijing and Cantonese cooking styles and will show you how to make some of the most famous dishes from each region. Course is moderated by local chefs specialized in each regional cuisine.

Course length:

  • 10 lessons held over a 12-week period. Intensive two-week courses also available upon request.

Price:

  • 660 € ($530 USD / 7,700 RMB), including all ingredients and take-home meals after each session.

 2016 Chinese Calligraphy 101

An introduction into the art of Chinese calligraphy. Learn to identify and experiment with various calligraphy styles and focus upon learning to do the one you like best.

Course length:

  • 1 hour, three times per week. Basic course is three months. Weekend seminars also held periodically-contact us for details.

Price:

  • 18 € ($28 USD / 210 RMB) per hour private tuition
  • 8 € ($12 USD / 94 RMB) per hour for groups of up to 6 students

 2017 Mandarin Chinese language lessons

Individualized programs with qualified and experienced Chinese teachers with TCFL (teacher of Chinese as a foreign language) qualifications from Suzhou University. Private one-to-one or small group tuition tailor-made to your needs. Courses for levels ranging from total beginner up through advanced. Free placement testing provided for all levels and class types.

Course length:

  • Daily lessons for one or more weeks. Basic course (one semester) is ten weeks of tuition. Courses available on-site at Boland or off-site at your home or office.

Price:

  • 780 € ($1,140 USD / 9,000 RMB) Two daily lessons -private tuition for ten weeks.
  • 1,375 € ($2007 USD / 16,000 RMB) Two daily lessons -private tuition for ten weeks
  • 165 € ($242 USD / 1,920 RMB) Two lessons twice weekly -small group tuition for eight weeks.

2021 Chinese Painting Studio

Artistic development and cultural understanding come with this fascinating program. An introduction to the major painting styles of China and the chance to try your hand at it, hands-on. Private studio tuition also available.

  • 3 lessons a week (one Chinese Art History and two Studio Painting lessons) held over a three-month period. Intensive courses also available upon request.

Chinese literature through the ages. This course combines classroom lectures to give background on some of the major works and book-club style discussions in a traditional Chinese teahouse setting.

 2024 Chinese Massage

Explore the secrets of Chinese massage in this introductory course. Learn how to relieve basic aches and pains and reduce stress.

 2025 Introduction to Chinese handicrafts

Paper cutting, reed weaving, clay puppet figurines, and Chinese tea ceremony are all included in this one-day elective course

An overview of a few of the most popular forms of this traditional Chinese art through a combination of classroom learning, DVDs and theater visits.
